He is survived by : his significant other Wanda Fisher Metcalf; his children, Amanda Hensley (Jeremy) of Mars Hill and Travis Metcalf of Alexander; his grandchildren, Polly Brooke Metcalf (Josh Vandevander), Chandler, Harrison (Whitney Hensley) and Dylan (Lily Metcalf); his great grandchildren, Serena and Chloe Vandevander; and his brother Robert Metcalf (Rosie) of Marshall.

“Wanda, our hearts go out to you and your family. We were saddened to hear of Mike's passing but are holding to the memories we have of times spent together. We will always remember Mike playing the banjo, our camping trips, fishing, and just hanging out. Mike was such a wonderful man and friend. He will be greatly missed.
