It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Franklin DeWitt Cowell (Alliance, North Carolina), born in Bayboro, North Carolina, who passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Carol Allen Cowell Sr. and Amy Brinson Cowell; his siblings, Lelia Cowell, Laura Simpson, Gladys Abbott, Minnie Mae Spencer and Carroll Allen Cowell Jr.; and his son-in-law Anthony DiPietro.
He is survived by : his wife Patricia Holmes Cowell of Reelsboro; his siblings, Connie Lewis of Dunnellon, Florida, Steven Cowell of Woodland and Timothy Cowell of Reelsboro; his son Russell Cowell (Carolyn) of Arapahoe; his nieces and nephews, Nicola DiPietro of Tucson, Alison Francis (Mike) of Reidsville and Sarah Smith (Charles) of New Bern; and his grandchildren, Heather DiPietro of New York, Celeste DiPietro of Tucson, Ivan, Iain Cowell of Arapahoe, Tristan Smith, Alistair Smith and Francesca Smith of New Bern.
