He was predeceased by : his parents, Colbert Effin Britt, Sr. and Grace Mae Britt-Keppell (Bassett); and his siblings, Colbert Britt, Jr., Joyce Riddell (Britt), Valaree (Britt) and Carter (Mike).

He is survived by : his wife Frances Britt (McSorley); his children, Core (Tom) of Tallahassee, FL, Elizabeth (Britt), Robert Britt, Jr. (Britt) of New Bern, NC, Cheryl (Britt) and Bowman (Paul) of Waxhaw, NC.; his grandchildren, Collin, Hayden, Clayton, Ethan Bramel, William "Dustin" Norris and Olivia Bowman; and his great grandchildren, Eliot, Emmet and Violette Bramel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in honor of Robert's name to Grace Anglican Church, 3407 Red Fox Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
