She was predeceased by: her parents, Myrtle M. Cooke and John Q. Cooke; her son Ronald Peed; her great grandchild Jadyn Simpson; and her brother Alfred Q. Cooke.
She is survived by: her husband James R Kanon; her daughters, Sandee Zechman and Winona Peed; her grandchildren, Raymond Zechman, Dariene Watkins (Josh) and Holly Zechman; her great grandchild Olivia; and her siblings, Luther Cooke (Jackie) and Patricia Duncan. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
The Family will hold a private memorial service and asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made to: UNC Heath Rex, NC Heart and Vascular Hospital, 4420 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607.
