He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garner and Virgie Garner; and his siblings, Bertha Garner Douglas, Betty Garner Wallace, Gary Alexander Garner and Junior Lane.
He is survived by: his wife Lillie Bradsher Garner; his children, Lynn Murchison (Scott), James T. Garner, Jr. (Kay) and Brian Whitt Garner (Kerry); his sisters, Rachel Van Arsdale (Frank) and Caroline Garner Flores; his grandchildren, Aaron Garner (Melissa), Kenneth Scott Murchison, Jr., Ava Garner and Colt Garner; and his great grandchildren, Owen Garner and Jack Garner.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home (300 E McIver St, Angier, NC 27501).
