He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Sue Hamilton Byrd; his children, Rodney Byrd (Tina) of Clayton and Crystal Brown (Eddie) of Coats; his grandchildren, Austin Byrd of Angier, Alexa Byrd Gentry (Dallas) of Angier, Caitlin Floyt (Will) of Smithfield, Patrick Brown of Benson, Courtney Brown Herring (Brandon) of Coats and Savannah Brown of Coats; and his siblings, Alma Byrd Williamson (Clyde) of Seagroves and Daniel Byrd of Troy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church (2458 Johnston County Rd, Angier, NC 27501). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
