She was predeceased by: her great-grandparents, Cuther Charles, Retha Arrington, Edward, Katie Wood, Charles, Cynthia Mossman and James Cochran.
She is survived by: her parents, Justin Mossman and Tara Mossman; her brother Tyler Jay; her grandparents, Charles, Gloria Arrington (Papa), Wayne and Lisa Mossman (Papa); her great-grandparent Esther Cochran Dodge; her uncles, Craig Arrington and Matt Donnelly; her aunt Tammy Donnelly; and her cousins, Brianna Nicole, Peyton Matthew and Isabella Grace.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Piney Grove Baptist Church (3217 Piney Grove-Wilbon Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). Visitation was held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in MaKayla's memory to her church, New Life Church in Benson, NC or the Ronald McDonald House helping provide continued comfort, care, and support to other families facing a challenge much like hers.
