He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Carlson and Violet Carlson (Mathison); his wife Mary Lou; his siblings, Harold, Alice and June; and his brothers-in-law, Carroll, Spencer and Lawrence.

He is survived by: his daughters, Hazel Ann Rush and Cindy Stoltz (Billie Spatafora); his grandchildren, Corey Rush (Elizabeth), Rob Stoltz (Jennifer), Amanda Scannicchio (Anthony), Keegan Rush (Sara) and Jordan Stoltz; his siblings, Jeanette Morris and Leonard Carlson (Stephanie); and his sister-in-law Inge Carlson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
