He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Crayton Nelms and Euna Blount Denson Nelms; his wife Nancy King Nelms; and his brother Norman Shelton Nelms. He is survived by: his children, David Nelms (Lisa) of Angier, Mark Nelms (Pam) of Angier and Phyllis Davis (Eric) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Ryan Nelms (Allison), Christina Jones (Eric) and Kendall Langston (Dalton); his great grandchildren, Dylan Jones, Brock Nelms and Baylee Nelms; and his sister Barbara Jackson of Momeyer.
