He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Weichel and Florence Weichel. He is survived by: his wife Carol Kulp Weichel; his daughters, Kristen Trask (Roland), Jennifer McCarthy (Conor) and Megan Weichel; his grandchildren, Audrey, Molly, Hudson, Braeden and Vivian; his brother Reed Weichel; and his brothers-in-law, David Kulp (Robin) and Kenneth Kulp.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Apex Funeral Home (550 W Williams St, Apex, NC 27502). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Apex Baptist Church (110 S Salem St, Apex, NC 27502). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at the Apex Cemetery (207 W Moore St, Apex, NC 27502).

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be donated to Tunnel to Towers foundation, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared below for the family.
