It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Diane Steed Long of Apex, North Carolina, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Everett Steed Jr. of Durham, NC and Margaret Granica of Chicago, Illinois.; her grandparents, Joseph, Victoria, Frank Everett Steed Sr. and Martha Dupree Steed; and her mother-in-law Mable Long (Moody Allen Long) of Apex.
She is survived by: her spouse Moody Allen Long; her daughter Connie Long Moriarty (Peter Matthew Moriarty); her nephew Frank Settlemyer (Robyn); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Philip, Wells of Macon and Georgia; her brother-in-law Lawrence Long; and her sister Pam Belcher Jones. She is also survived by her husband's family members.
