He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick John Schmidt II and Marion Schmidt (Ackerman); his former wife Arlene Schmidt; and his stepdaughter Heather Sabatino. He is survived by: his wife Joan Schmidt; his sister Sue Sabre; his daughter Sue Ganshaw; his son-in-law Joe Ganshaw; and his granddaughter Jenna Ganshaw.
