As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Kathleen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Doherty and Alice Doherty; her husband Brian Van Metre; and her brothers, Al Doherty and Terry Doherty.
She is survived by: her children, Mike, Chris (Rose), Kevin (Kim) and Michelle Pittelli (Chris); and her sister Pat Nemes. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several granddogs and great granddogs.
A Mass was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex, NC 27502).
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be donated to Transitions Lifecare Hospice or the COPD Foundation.
