He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Daly Wetherington and Jessie Harvey Bratcher; and his sister Anne. He is survived by: his wife Josie Shine Bratcher; his children, Elizabeth, John (Teresa), Joe (Amanda) and Mark (Yasmin); and his grandchildren, Jay, Andrew, Alyssa, Nora, McLaine and Daphne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Shine Family Cemetery (99 Shine Dr, Arapahoe, NC 28510).
