He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hyde and Carlotta Elkins Hyde; his wife Nancy Hohn Hyde; and his brothers, John Horton, Jr., Reverend Kenneth Hyde and Hubert Hyde.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Mark Hyde (Elizabeth) and Phillip Worth Hyde (Sherry); his grandchildren, Rachel Krug (Andrew), Sarah Foster (Dylan), Haley Caudle (Justin) and Tyler Hyde (Taylor); and his great grandchildren, Xander Caudle and Maclaine Caudle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
