She is survived by: her husband Robin Kanipe; her son Peter (McKenzie); her grandchildren, Samantha, Liam, Michael, Ben, Kinsley and Landon; her siblings, Jane Upson Hubbard (Tim) of Chapel Hill, NC and Joe Upson (Janice) of Marietta, GA; and her brother-in-law John Wright of Banner Elk.
