It is with sadness that the passing of Neal Gary Appel (Arden, North Carolina) is shared. Neal, born on October 18, 1946, passed away on September 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Neal will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Neal by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Neal is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Neal’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sidney Appel and Pearl Appel; his brothers, Steven (Donna) and Clifford (Mariann); his wife Beth; his children, Scott Appel, Aimee Yllanes (Luis) and Jodie Appel (Mark); his grandchildren, Sydney and Makai Yllanes; and his pet Max. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
