He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemuel Clifton and Callie Young Clifton; his wife Irene Clifton; his siblings, Ruth Luther, Geraldine, Betty Jean, Tommy Clifton and Jack Clifton; his granddaughter-in-law Megan Clifton; and his granddaughter Melissa Walker.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Lamb (Richard) of Shallotte, Candy Clifton of Asheboro, Teresa Clifton of Asheboro, Pam Needham (Jason) of Seagrove, Brad Clifton of Hillsville and Keith Clifton of Asheboro; his brother Kenneth Clifton of Florida; and his pet Rowdy. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
