He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Sprouse Bennett; his parents, Andrew Bennett and Alma Freeman Bennett; his children, Curtis Mitchell, John Mitchell, Andrew Bennett and Carolyn Kearns; and his siblings, Clyde Bennett, Floyd Bennett, Archie Bennett, Irene Foust, Aillene Damron and Lecy Forkner.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Bennett of High Point, NC, Donald Mitchell (Kathy) of Thomasville, NC, Ella Potter (Randy) of High Point and Patricia Morrill (Chris) of Hope Mills, NC.; and his pet Opie. He is also survived by five granddaughters, six grandsons, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
