He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Aikens; his sister Gwendolyn Amador; and his aunt Florence Lindsay (Willam). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Isley Aikens; his sons, Lamar Leander Aikens of Asheboro, NC and Desmond Lee Aikens of Carthage, NC.; and his grandchildren, Kalin Dache'Aikens, Zaire Letterlough and Jahan Aikens.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 1544 N Fayetteville St, Asheboro, NC 27203.
