He was predeceased by: his parents, Clina Jones and Leona Phillips Jones; and his siblings, Geneva Saunders, Wayne Jones, Ray Jones and Howard Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Langley Jones; his daughters, Stacy Jones Boxell (Kevin) of Apex and Molly Jones Upchurch (Bradley) of Bear Creek; his stepson Tyler Voncannon (Tina) of Asheboro; his brother Dwight Jones (Ruby) of Bennett; and his grandchildren, Kyndall Boxell of Apex, Carter Boxell of Apex, Leona Upchurch of Bear Creek, Bailey Voncannon of Asheboro and Lauren Milioni (Gabe) of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bennett Baptist Church, P.O. Box 91, Bennett, NC 27208.
