He is survived by: his wife Anita; his sister Carolyn Wheeler (John) of Shelburne Falls, MA; his children, Harold William "Will" Gowdy, Jr. of National Harbor, MD and Marie Mercier (Derek) of Mint Hill, NC.; his granddaughters, Madeline, Allison and Maren; and his great grandchild Theodora.
