We announce the death of Jean Nichols of Asheboro, North Carolina, who passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 89. Jean will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Bergemann and Evelyn Sowell Bergemann; her husband Robert "Bob" Nichols; and her brother Oscar Bergemann. She is survived by: her children, Teresa Nichols Betenbaugh (Timothy Betenbaugh) of Asheboro, Tim Nichols (Nancy) of Randleman and Michael Leroy Nichols of Asheboro; her sisters, Adrana West of Denton and Cheryl Miller of High Point; and her grandsons, Joshua Nichols (Angenette), Daniel Bellus, Aaron Nichols (Stephanie) and Corey Nichols (Meghan). She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
