He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Douglas and Nannie Ruth Batten Shelton; his daughter Mandie Shelton; his grandson Matthew Williams; and his sister Cathy Ledwell.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Shelton; his daughters, Krystal Johnson (Arthur) of Asheboro and Jennifer Jamison of Ft. Bragg; his siblings, Sue Dorsey (Michael) of Asheboro, Vicky Luck (Tommy) of Asheboro and Ronnie Shelton of Asheboro; and his grandchildren, Maggie Shelton (Brandon), Luke Williams, Zarek York, Ceara York, Dezarae Harris, Timothy Jamison, Bridgett Jamison, Aaron Johnson, Reagan Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Ethan Johnson. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service (908 Albemarle Rd, Asheboro, NC 27203). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
