She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Runnfeldt (Tracy Bender) and Stephen Runnfeldt (Kristen); her stepchildren, Caywood Black and Shelby Huttleston (Doug); her brother Robert Volonte (Edna); her grandchildren, Andrew Runnfeldt (Samantha), Benjamin Runnfeldt (Roxy Roessing), James Schaeffer (Mara) and JJ Hendricks (Daniel); her great grandchildren, Theo, Romy, Micah, Isaac, Quinn and Ezra; and her nephews, Brandon and Darren. She is also survived by her family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the Valerie H. Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the North Carolina Zoo or to Hospice of Randolph.
