He is survived by: his wife Lynn York Smith; his daughter Jennifer Smith Thielmann of Moncks Corner, SC; his grandchildren, Serenity "Seren" Thielmann, Harper Thielmann and Everly Thielman; his siblings-in-law, Carol Smith of Michigan and Craig York (Lisa) of Asheboro; his nieces and nephews, Julie Smith, Brittany York, Scott Smith and Chris York; and his close friend David Coakley.
