He is survived by: his children, Arneta Machelle Staley and Dr. Samuel Dean Staley; his granddaughters, Constance B. Staley Bunn (Pastor Jamarcus Bunn) and Kirsten R. Staley; and his nephews, Avery and Aiden Spencer.

Sam lived his life as a true Christian. He was such a good man and now present with Jesus. Sam was never at a loss for words and had many stories to tell. He will be greatly missed, but I'm sure he's enjoying his reunion with Charlotte (a sweet Christian lady) and his beloved Elton. RIP Sam. Your friends, Fred & Mary”
