She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Larry Gene Wiggins and Marie Jones Wiggins of Marion; her grandparents, Bill, Lillie Wiggins, Dewey and Iva Jones; her husband Douglas Olson; her siblings, Veronica Wiggins and Michael Wiggins (Linda); her niece Autumn Wiggins Essick (Branden); her close friend Emma Sutton; her cousin Cannie Jones; and her pet Piper.

“Vanessa was a quiet and soft spoken lady. She made us all want to be better teachers. Her loving acceptance of students made her media center a place where students could explore, express, and relax. After retiring, she often sent sweet notes and cards to remind me that she was thinking of me. She had a way of making others feel important. She will be missed by all the staff and past students at NAMS.”
