He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Sheridan Briles and Ella Mae Younts Briles; and his siblings, Alice Loflin, Jewel Jordan, Doris Stout, Dalton Briles, Robert Briles, Gilbert Briles and Wayne Briles.
He is survived by: his wife India Trotter Briles; his daughter Karen Briles Adams (Ed) of Asheboro; his sister-in-law Gail Davis (Rick) of Asheboro; and his nieces, Janet Williams, Phyllis Caviness, Bonnie Blue and Kayla Jordan. He is also survived by several great nieces and one great nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service (908 Albemarle Rd, Asheboro, NC 27203). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the High Rock Baptist Church (1047 Bescher Chapel Rd, Trinity, NC 27370). A burial will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at the Oaklawn Cemetery (737 Albemarle Rd, Asheboro, NC 27203).
