He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell O. Hess, Jr. and Ruth Rogers Hess; and his brother Russell O. Hess III. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Bryan Hess; his children, Benjamin Allen Hess, Shannon R. McDevitt and Shian Ponder (Darryll); his grandchildren, Porter Warrick Hess (Franklin Hagarty), Meghan Silvers (Janson), Thatcher Warrick Hess and Jaimie Rey; his great grandchildren, Sophie Elle Silvers and Piper Gwen Silvers; his brother David Hess (Donna Ayerst); and his sister-in-law Lori Hess. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
