She was predeceased by: her parents, Haskel Sloan and Ada Ophelia Brooks Sloan; and her siblings, Mildred Sloan, Gertrude Jiles and William Sloan.
She is survived by: her children, Mistie Smith, Alecia Kinloch, Julie Smith, Amelia Coppage and Charles Smith; and her sisters, Dorothy Boyd and Willie Mae Patterson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
