With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bertie Corrine Watson Dougherty of Asheville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 6, 2025 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kelly Watson and Ada Watson. She is survived by: her husband Ronald J. Dougherty; her children, Mark Dougherty (Sheila) of Wilmington, NC, Daniel Dougherty (Denea) of Mooresville, NC, Rebecca Dougherty of Asheville, NC and Rhonda Macy (Scott) of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Savannah Dougherty Tackett (Trevor), Devon Tucker (Lauren), Rachel Kidd (Nicholas), Mitchell Tucker (Jocie), Corrine Dougherty, Cody Dougherty (Rebecca) and Ava Hope Macy; her stepgrandson Jace Macy; and her siblings, Marjorie Eggleston of Lovingston, VA and Kelly Watson Jr. of Newbern, NC. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Groce Funeral Home (856 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC 28805). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
