She is survived by: her sons, Walter Hendrix (Vickie), Samuel Hendrix and Eddie Chester; her great grandchild Betty Jo Hendrix; and her brother John David "JD" Wallen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Her contributions to fostering children were a testament to her nurturing spirit, and her love for animals was well known to those around her.
