He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Godfrey and Althea Carr Godfrey. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Godfrey; his children, Sharon Downs (Robert) of Candler, Eddie Godfrey (Alecia) of Arden, Danny Godfrey of Arden and Brandon Burrell (Caroline) of Arden; his grandchildren, Ava, Cora, Christopher, Heather and Noah; and his great grandchildren, Sean, Makyla, Cayden and Tessa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home (72 Long Shoals Rd, Arden, NC 28704). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
