She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Nay Tweed and Bertha Lanelle Warren Tweed; her husband Jerry L. Metz; and her siblings, Pamela Brady, Wanda Blackwell, Carroll Tweed and Alan Tweed.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Blackwell, Jr. (Sherri) and Annette Gregory; her stepdaughter Paula Metz Pruett (Daniel); her sister-in-law Liz Tweed; her grandchildren, Nicole Martinez (Serigo), Toby Blackwell and Justin Gregory; and her great grandchildren, Mía, Paisley, Mateo, Brantley, Rylan and Mael. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Anders Rice & Roper Funeral Home (1428 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
