He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Ward and Mattie McKee Ward. He is survived by: his wife Audrey Jean Deweese Ward; his sons, Bruce Allen Ward and Michael Eugene Ward; his siblings, Annette Ulry and Stancil Ward; and his grandchildren, Bailey, Michael and Robert.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 901 Aiken Rd, Asheville, NC 28804.
