He was predeceased by : his parents, Coy Glenn Johnson and Betty June Johnson. He is survived by : his son Jeff Johnson of Asheville, NC; his sister Terry J. James (Daniel) of Asheville, NC; and his granddaughter Lillian Mae Johnson of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Penland Family Funeral Home (125 South Ave, Swannanoa, NC 28778). A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
