He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Sluder and Willie Freeman Sluder; his siblings, Josephine Sluder and Tony Sluder; and his son Eric Parham.
He is survived by: his significant other Sandra Parham; his daughter Tanya Plekan; his son-in-law Walt Plekan of Cary, NC; his daughter Cassie Melton; his son-in-law Jamin Melton of Asheville, NC; his grandchildren, Ashlee Neely, Colby Neely, Alex Plekan, Parker Plekan, Jaden Melton, Jaxen Melton and Jasen Daniel; and his sisters, Brenda Sluder of Asheville, NC. and Margaret Coe of Asheville, NC..
The family prefers and wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the French Broad Baptist Church Cemetery Fund: PO Box 122, Alexander, NC 28701 or a charity of your choosing be given in Dan's honor.
