He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorain Balfour and Martha Williams Brookshire. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Phipps Brookshire; his sons, Matthew (Christy) of Asheville and Timothy (Blake) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Anna Ruth, Adam and Marie; and his brother Larry (Jolene). He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
