David Stewart Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Stewart of Asheville, North Carolina, born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though David may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Glenn Stewart and Esther Wood Stewart; and his sister Nancy Pobst of Grand Rapids. He is survived by: his granddaughters, Laura Bradley (Brian) and Mara Stewart (Jeremy Lange); his great grandchildren, David Bradley and Julia Lange; his stepchildren, Terri Sue Ackerman of Carboro and Stephen Paul Ackerman (Sue Pegrume); and his stepgrandsons, Jade and Jonah Ackerman of Ashhurst.
