He was predeceased by : his parents, Woodrow T. Land and Sue Reid Land; his wife Betty Whitener Land; and his sister Lora. He is survived by : his former life partner Ella Land (Shugy); his sons, Jeffrey Douglas Land (Wendy) and Michael Ashley Land; his stepchildren, Ethan Whitener and Paula Whitener Gentry; his siblings, Myra Moore, Terry and Gary Land; his grandchildren, Carson, Celeste, Carley Land, Robbie, Conor and Meredith Crowell; his stepgranddaughters, Isabella and Sofia; and his sister Kim Wood.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
