He was predeceased by: his parents, James McElveen and Martha "Twinker" Mauney McElveen. He is survived by: his children, Erin McElveen of Asheville, Kyle and Emily McElveen of Marion, NC; his sibling Kelly McElveen Cain of Morganton; his cousin Steve Cox of Morganton; and his grandson Raiden Robinson of Asheville.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Glenwood Baptist Church (155 Glenwood Baptist Church Rd, Marion, NC 28752). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at the Oak Grove Cemetery (995 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752).
