He is survived by: his mother Shannon H. Adell of Fletcher, NC; his cousin Carlos; and his siblings, Bernon Mills (Evelyn) of New Jersey, Philip Mills of High Point, Crystal Mills of Asheville, LaTonya Bell of Ohio and Jason Tinsley of Michigan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

“I am saddened to learn about Ernest's passing. He was a truly special human that always showed me patience and grace. He would regularly call me and check in even though I hadn't seen him in years. Sometimes to mess with me he would sign super fast and make fun of me not being able to catch up with him. He taught me so much in the years I knew him and I will miss our calls to check in.
