He was predeceased by: his aunts and uncles, Kenneth Rice, Ruby Jones, Esther Hardy, Johnetta Hardy, Lillian Rice Jones (Roberta), Helen Grant and Fannie Mae Lindsey (Polly); his cousin Harold Jones (Papoose); and his father Boid Buie (Chuck Thorpe).
He is survived by: his sister Catherine Howard; his uncle Louis Rice, Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Nija Jeter, Raheem Howard, Kevin Morrison, Tika Greene and Shakira Allen; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nylah, Kason, Melodi and Khari; his aunts and uncles, Lillian Butler (Harvey), Robert Hardy, Betty White (Yvette), Krista Hardy, Keith Davis and Catherine Kinnard; and his friends, William Smith (Billy) and Charone Morgan.
