He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Joseph Galloway and Doris Rice; and his sister Carolyn Sherlin. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Galloway of Asheville, NC; his children, Teresa Galloway of Arden, NC, Carol Wilson of Greenwood, SC, Dwayne Galloway (Amber) of O'Brien, FL and Kerri Wilson (Kyle) of Hendersonville, NC; his grandchildren, Anderella Hyder (Santos), Davis Raines III, Michael Galloway Jr., Wyatt Wilson and Myrrh Galloway; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Leia and Rory; and his friend Robert Naumann.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Buncombe County Parks and Recreation, with "To Support Lake Julian" noted in the memo.
