She was predeceased by: her parents, George Alfred Royer and Mary Meyers Royer; and her husband Robert Gunning Bruce. She is survived by: her children, Suzy Hedden (Jimmy) of Leicester, Sally Withers (David) of Swannanoa and Bill Bruce (Sue) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Vanessa Rhodarmer (Ben), Matthew Hedden (Kellyn), Caleb Hedden (Chelsea), Mary Bates (Kevin), Eleanor Kumar (Aditya), Katherine and Maggie Bruce; and her great grandchildren, Bryce, Bria Rhodarmer, Wyatt, Wade, Wells, Parker Hedden, Katie and Liam Bates.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation or Grace Episcopal Church.
