He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Watson and Eula Livley McClung; and his wife Melinda Webster McClung. He is survived by: his daughter Karma Howard (Jason Lowery); his grandchildren, Teresa Howard, Iesha Shipley (Jeremiah) and Gregory Howard; his son John McClung (Carrie); his grandchildren, Darien Brown (Joshua) and Derick McClung (Molly); his great grandchildren, Bryson Shelton (Shanna), Liam McClung, Theodora Brown, Elina Shipley, Melinda McClung, Brilynn Shelton, Emmitt Shipley, Noah Shelton and Ashlyn Ballew; and his sister Dora Totten (Pat).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church (2 Bear Creek Rd, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
