With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Grace Baker Peyton of Asheville, North Carolina, born in Kenansville, North Carolina, who passed away on May 21, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Brantley Baker and Katie Baker. She is survived by: her husband William Madison Peyton; and her children, Kathryn Louise Peyton (Tyler Brown), Leslie Peyton Gordon (Bart Gordon) and William Madison Peyton, Jr.. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

During the covid lockdowns (2020 - 2021), Grace used her time alone productively to become an accomplished autobiographical writer.
