With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gregg Randall Calkins (Asheville, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 6, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Gregg may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gregg touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Darreld Calkins and Marilyn Calkins (Kibbe); and his son Ryan. He is survived by: his wife Laurie Calkins (Holderby); his sons, Kurt Calkins (Rachel) of California, Derek Calkins of Kentucky and Preston Calkins of Colorado; and his brothers, Ken Calkins (Theresa) of Kentucky and Cary Calkins (Krystal Fancey) of Georgia.
