He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lance and Edna Lance; his wife Mary Tom Lance; and his brother Herman Lance. He is survived by: his sons, Bob Lance and Ken Lance (Brenda); and his grandchildren, Amber Whiteside (Whitey), Kenny Lance (Kim) and Tommy Lance. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home - Patton Ave. (1401 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (1498 Sand Hill Rd, Candler, NC 28715).
